$10 sale selections
IMO, these are the cream of the crop, the pick of the litter, the cartons of milk that expire one week later than the rest of the shirts released so far during the threadless holiday sale. First up we have
, A quite fantastic bit of nerdy childhood nostalgia. (did anyone ever sell enough stuff to get one of those HUGE prizes? it didn't seem ridiculous at the time.) Great use of colours and comic style rasters, and there are tons of great details and jokes to spot. Seeing this brings me back to when i used to visit my great grandmother in my childhood (she always kept a cardboard box of vintage comics around for us kids). a warm fuzzy feeling like that is an absolute steal at $10.
Next there's
,a really well-drawn asian inspired design that is odd and beautiful at the same time. It's got a man riding a huge cock, but not in the way you might think. It's nice to see threadless print a design with such a toned down and subtle colour scheme as well, this is sure to be one of my most worn shirts in the future. sweet!
also, theres a reprint of
, a sublime rendition of the schoolyard rendition of jingle bells. amazing colour work on this one, it's almost impossible to believe that this was done with only four print colours and no raster. Major cool points for using the REAL batmobile from the 60's show and not one of the 90s film versions.
basically, what i'm saying is go buy some $10 tees.
