hey, where'd he go?!

I'm sorry it's been a bit quiet on this page for the last week or so...the days fly by when you're an atomic invader fighting canadian mounties! the site is not on a hiatus, i'm just lazy. i'll post some news and whatnot soon. Until that, here's a little treat for those of you who like getting your shirts a little cheaper....an archive of ongoing sales and working coupon codes around the t-shirt world:

Threadless hat trick

Tools Of The Trade - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Shameless self promotion alert: I've got a new t-shirt available from threadless this week too! three weeks in a row, that's got to be some kind of record. This one caters to the artsy crowd, it's simply a rough, hand drawn assortment of random physical drawing tools and their line quality. i drew it while sitting on a mountain top, so the tool assortment is limited to the equivalents of what i brought for the trip.. cruddy 2nd rate pencils, markers and felt tip pens. $15/17 from threadless.

Oh, and it's available as a hoodie too, which i think is great because i fucking love hoodies. Those are American Apparel, printed on silver and cost $40 (that's a full dollar cheaper than a blank hoodie from the AA store!)

Random thought of the day

Everyone knows that superman logo shirts are for perioxide-bleached upper class redneck jock wannabees, so why aren't we seeing more introverted hipster geeks making fun of them by wearing bizarro-world superman shirts?

variations available via superherostuff and hill city comics ($17-19) and probably tons of other places. google it.

Milk, Synthemesc & OJ (now with added A/V joy!)

I've got a brand new tee out on threadless this week too! The supremely talented Craig Shimala &
Bob Nanna were awesome enough to produce this video to comemmorate its release:

Threadless picks of the week

Usual Day at Work - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
$15/17, Threadless

This one makes me happy because it manages to overcome the potentially trite subject matter (simplified, cutesy characters shovelling teddy bears) by making it somewhat bizarre and dark, yet still not tipping over all the way into the trappings of the cute with a hint of perverse-subgenre that's so common these days. It's more perverse with a hint of cute, if that makes any sense. the key is the chained up hanging character, i guess. The gigantic print size is a huge plus, too. get it here

Reel Passion - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever
$15/17, Threadless
This was one of my favourite subs for the Tribeca film festival loves threadless competition, so i'm happy it won. it was one of the few subs that seemed to be created by someone with a real interest for film, and the surrealist cyberpunk/ 50's advertisement poster mash up look of the whole thing is a perfect match for the theme of the competition. it looks like the kind of thing the patrons of the local moldy eccentric arthouse film club would wear, so it's no wonder it got the prize.
